  • 2016-01-21:  HCC Crane Downtime Planned - January 26, 2016

    This maintenance outage for software updates affects Crane only.

    Jobs which cannot complete before January 26th at 9:00am will be held in queue until the maintenance is complete. A follow-up announcement will be posted when the system is ready for production use.


    To minimize the impact to running jobs we are declaring a downtime for Crane to complete this work. We will use this maintenance window to update various software components across the cluster. The Crane login node will also be updated and will require users to log off. Users will be denied access to the Crane login node until the maintenance is completed.

  • 2016-01-12:  HCC Tusker Downtime Planned - January 19, 2016

    This maintenance outage for software updates affects Tusker only.

    Jobs which cannot complete before January 19th at 09:00am will be held in queue until the maintenance is complete. We anticipate this work will be finished by 6:00pm the same day.


    To minimize the impact to running jobs we are declaring a downtime for Tusker to complete this work. We will use this maintenance window to update various software components across the cluster. The Tusker login node will also be updated and will require users to log off. Users will be denied access to the Tusker login node until the maintenance is completed.

  • 2016-01-04:  SANDHILLS available for normal use

    After a hardware failure the SANDHILLS head node has been temporarily replaced and job scheduling should work again. We plan to migrate the head node services to a more permanent solution at some point in the future and will schedule a downtime when that occurs. For now the system should be fully functional. Please email hcc-support@unl.edu with any questions or issues.


  • 2016-01-02:  SANDHILLS outage - job scheduling unavailable

    The SANDHILLS cluster is currently unavailable for running jobs due to hardware failure of the head node. The login node will remain up for the time being and files should be accessible. All scheduling functionality (sbatch, squeue, etc) on the other hand will almost certainly fail.

    We will work towards a solution first thing on Monday and send additional announcements as necessary.
